Think of your favorite ice cream parlor in your city.

Is it the one with the best sundaes on the menu or one that allows you to pick a base flavor, add sauces and other toppings, and make your own signature dessert?

If you chose the latter and have a similar affinity towards B2B software, then you’ll love what we’ve built for you. Rocketlane is akin to ice cream you get at a Häagen-Daz joint: customizable to suit a variety of palettes.

In this blog, we’ll go over the three major areas within Rocketlane that offer unparalleled customization.

1. Multiple Dashboards

Dashboards are generally meant to give you a zoomed-out view of all your important tasks, project updates, and overall progress made from a quick glance.

But having just one dashboard comes with its own set of limitations - every user has access to the same dashboard, charts within the dashboard have to be modified every time you need to view things from a different lens, and therefore, limited visibility.

A single dashboard is just not a convenient way to absorb information anymore.

Enter multiple dashboards.

With Rocketlane, you can create a dashboard exclusively for yourself and separate ones to share with various teams. You can configure them according to region, customer type, deal size, etc., the possibilities are endless!

Each dashboard is essentially a collection of charts, and each chart gives you information about a key performance indicator. Apply filters to zoom in on any type of data, and get the information you’re looking for in a matter of seconds.

2. Project Field Grouping

Project Fields help users identify and catalog projects neatly within Rocketlane. But having a long list of fields doesn’t mean that anyone viewing the project will have the right context.

In order to make viewing projects more accessible to users, Rocketlane allows you to create sections and group project fields in a logical manner. This is what we refer to as “Field Sectioning”.

Even without context, a user can easily grasp all the project-related information since it’s all clearly organized into sections.

For instance, by creating a section called “Salesforce Info”, anybody viewing the information will know that all those fields under the section are related to Salesforce.

Field sectioning essentially allows users to slice and dice project fields and group them into categories (or sections) for better clarity, visibility, and understanding.

In the example below, you can see the various sections within a project, and expanding any section will display all the project fields within that section.

3. Customize your customer’s portal

Rocketlane even allows you to customize what your customer gets to see in their dedicated portal giving you more control. Depending on the size or type of customer you’re servicing, you can choose to tailor the portal by only including the features they will be using.

While project plans and spaces are enabled by default, features like files, chat, overview section, status updates, and board view can be disabled or enabled in phases depending on the project requirement.

Project owners and admins can modify the portal for every customer.

For instance, status updates might be more relevant for enterprise customers, while “Project View” alone might suffice for smaller customers.

With this level of customization, you can ease your customers into projects without ever overwhelming them. You can get them acquainted with your workflow gradually.

As customers become more familiar with Rocketlane, you can then roll out the other features like chat, status updates, and so on.

Pretty nifty, don’t you think?

Rocketlane’s unified platform can help you manage projects end-to-end, track where all your time is going, manage team resources, measure progress, and rapidly increase your time-to-value.
